rt — r. . FOXTON, Satueday, J uly 26,, 1879. (Boforo F. RoHnson and J. T. Stewart, Ksqs.,.J.Ps.) William Barton and William Smith, were charged with larceny, in having stolen from the shop of F. Loudou on July 21, a coat valued at j£l 17. Prisoners pleaded guilty, and were sentenced to two months' imprisonment in Wanganui Gaol. A further charge of vagranoy was preferred against them, to prove which iMr Andrew whyte and his son were called; Their evidence showed that one of the prisoners had been seen jumping over the bar equator at Why te's Hotel. • The prisoner Barton said he had been for some time working on the Douglas Station, and had come into Foxtou on the previous Saturday, evening. He and Smith were going over the Country looking for work. The Bench dismissed the case, as the charge of vagrancy had not been supported. The Court then adjourned.
