He was with a reconnoitring 1 party on the first June, when it was surprised, and before ib was able to withdraw, the Prince Imperial was killed, the British Government have joined the French Government in demanding the abdication of the Klie* dive of Kgypt. The total leserve in notos and bullion in the Bank of England is £20,635,000. The wool auctions closed .to-day. The total quantity sold was 280.000 bales The number of bales held over was 30,000. The bidding was animated . Colonial »vool a halfpenny to a penny advance.
