The s.s. Jane Douglas left Wellington at 4 p.m. ou the 15th, called at Lowry Bay to tako in passrngois and cargo, and proceeded again :■! 6 p.m.; anchored at Juipiti at C a.m. on the ISth, and left again at noon; arrived off the bar at 3:»(), entered tho river at ii, aud reached Foxtou at 5.35 p.m ; expi-rienoed northerly gale until arrival at Ki|.ili. from thence to arrival light northerly winds. The s.s. Him left Wellington at 4.30 p.m. on Tuesday hint, cased down ut Kapiti, and crossed tho bar at C a.m. following- morning, arriving at the wharf at ' 0.30 iim. The steamers Huia and Jane Douglas left Foxton ou Wednesday evening last for Wellington—the Huia having about twenty minutes' start. According to a shipping telegram posted at the .Telegraph Office, the Huia arrived at 2.55, next morning, and the Douglas five minutes after. The schooner Laurel was towed down the river to Hartley's on Wednesday last, by the p.s. Osprey, to load railway material from the Hydrabad. The schooner Saxon has hauled into the wharf to load timber.
