SAD DEATH FROM POISONING.

AUcklaxd Tuesday,

Alice Turner, daughter of the lute D. Turner, was found dead in her bed this morning. The previous night site had taken laudanum, and laid it in her mouth for tho toothache

The inquest on Mi.s Turner, supposed to have died from poisoning, has been held J. P. King deposed . When deceased came into our shop she was in good spirits. She asked me to supply her with another bottle of laudanum and auother of chloroform. She had been in the habit of purchasing these drugs from me for relief from neuralgia in the head and face, to which she was subject. I gave her loz of laudanum and two drachms of chloroform, both marked " poison." She was in the habit of rubbing the drugs on her gums and heal. I don't know whether she took any of them internally. I remarked. You are taking too much of these riho unswered, "No fear; I am obliged to tako chloral every night, by Dt Haiues' prescription." ■" She had come to me for those drugs for four or iive weeks. She procured thorn on her own accouut. As she was leaving the &h>p I said " Take care now und not poisou yourself." She said j" Nj f -ar, lam tot well U3ed to it. I am not tired of my life yet." Other evidence was given, showing that deceased took chloral and 1-iud-auun for tooth aclie It is suppo3el thut death resulted from an overdose ou v weak constitution. The jury returnei the followiug verdict: — That decease I died tit Parnell, on the :ind instau', of narcotic poison but what the poison was or by whom administered there is no evidence to show.
