(betjtek's seeoial to press agency.) Sydney, Tuesday. The French ironclad Victorieuse went through torpedo practice while exhibiting the electric light on Mon«» day night. Thousands were attracted to witness the spectacle. Cooktown Tuesday. There have been great gales along the eastern coast. Several vessels have returned dismasted. Melbourne, Wednesday. The Bank of Victoria has declared a dividend of 10 pcx cent., and transferred £1 J 5,000 sterling from the reserve fund to the suspense account. A number of small failures are reported.
