+ Our lady readers will learn with interest that the value of a French girl's nose has just been judicially appraised at £200. Some time ago a Puns omnibus horse became frisky; there wus a collison, a window was emashed, and a passenger, a young demoiselle, received some of the broken glass in her face. It was «t first thought the hurts were trifling, and her parents declined the proffered services of the omnibus company's doctor. Hut the scratches did not heal as they were expectod to, and the girl's father brought an action against ihe company, alleging that her nose had boen permanently in- ! jured, and that this seriously dim- ! inished her prospects 01 establishment j in life — in other words, of getting a ' husband. He obtained £10 o;i the ! first trial and £200 on tho second.
