Is t ew PrAMoura, Monday, 7 p.m. A large and influential deputation waited on the Native Minister this morning with reference to the holding of the sale of the Waimate plains at Xew Plymouth- Mr Sheehan said he would communicate with the Department, but thought that the sale GP might be held in Wellington. The deputation also asked thftt a j thousand immigrants might be sent [ to Taranaki, as well as 250 single girls, ,as servants. There is a great scarcity of all -kinds of labor in Taranaki. This Mr jSheehan said lie would attend i t>, and as it was feared there would | not be labor enough to get in the liar* ! vest, that some men might be s^nt j here from Otago and the West Coast.
