Five deaths of infants occurred on the voyage. Wellington, Monday, 7.54 p.m. Only two candidates were nominated for the Mayoralty— Dransfield and Hutchison. The Divorce Court has been sitting all day. There were several cases for hearing, and several for decree nisi, which were granted. 'Ihe Premier is expected toj leave for Kawau on Wednesday next. A deputation waited upon him to -day, regarding a site for a Sailors' Home. He has promised to consider the matter. Westport, Monday, 6 p.m. A mysterious fire occui'red in the building owned by Hooper and Dodson, situated next to Times Office. No fire had been left in the building, and no one was sleeping on the premises. Waimate, Monday, 6 p.m. A most destructive fire is raging in the Waimate bush, destroying property in timber and mills to a very large extent. Mr Studholme, the principal owner, estimates liis loss at not less than £60,000. The mills of Messrs Obalds, Hayes,Hunt, Bruce, Bartlett, and Barret, are burnt. The damage is expected to be over £80,000. Auckland, 18th November, 7 p.m. Father Hennoberry is erecting a marque for next Sunday's services to hold 400 C people.
