BkA It i 8 stated hero that Mr. George W'Culloch Eeed, the Editor of the Otogo Daily limes, goes Home for two j'ears as Immigration Agent. It is also stated that Mr. E. J. on his arrival from San Trransisco, will assume the editorial reins oftheNewZealander. On Saturday nignt all the p'acos of amusement were crammed. Last night there were over 50 CO persons at the circus, and nearly 2000 at the theatre. The amount of money taken at the gates at tho Agricultural Show was £81 1, as against £737 last year. At the dinner in the evening his Excelloncy the Governor was present, and spoke at some length en the advancement of the colony in agriculture. At the sale of Mr Gilligan's racing stock yesterday there was a large attendance. Danbury was bought by Mr H.Vallance for £500 ; Laertes by Mr Walker of "Wanganui, for £475 ; Fiction by Mr M. Eutler for £250; Mufti by Mrs R. Mason for £425 ; Lady of the Lake by Mr Walker for 95 guineas ; Songster bj Mr Black for £275 ; Javelin was bought in at £775. At the sale of prize stock, Prince William realised 240 guineas ; Morlft 220 guineas; Awamoa, 100 guineas; White Bathertly, 115 guineas. DrxEDiif, Tuesday.
