WHO PENTH FOR RICHES?
Who pineth for riches ? whosijjheth for gold ? Who longs for a titled name ? There arc treasurer too high fur the rich man to buy, Which the poor may mare justly claim. Fur the worker, he toiloth with right good will, And his lot is a lot divine, When ho tbrgeth the iron, or turncth the mill, Or dclveth the secret mine. The man who b3gins at the mountain top Without having clambered or tried, Knows not the rare pleasure of looking back, And tracing his steps up the side. But the worker, ho risetu by alow degrees, And at length when the hill is won, lie loveth to think of the rugged ways He trod when ho first begun. Who blusheth at labour? who direlh to scorn The toil of the honest hand P ±. Who llatters the lordlings, yot overlooks The peasant who tills his land 'i There's many a uobleman disguised In a suit of russet brown; There is many a worker man passed by, On whom Heaven in love looks down.
