Mr Loudou's address, which wo report fully iv another column, disappointed us. Mr Loudon entirely based his claim for election upon tho p.ist. So far as the future is concerned, excepting in one or two saia 11 matters, ho enunciated no lino of action, nor laid down any •' policy !" What will he do to push tho district ahead, to promote settlement, to open up trade ? Perhaps ho will reply — " Everything that is right !" This is too general. If he is to represent, he must lead, and show tho way» and declare his policy.
