He is believed to be making for Parihaka. Wellin'Gtojt, Monday, 7.55 p.m. The Sqpreme Court opened to-day. His Honor's charge intimitated there were in all eleven oases included in the calendar. He was sorry to say the list comprised somo of the highest offences known to the law — murder, attempted murder, manslaughter, and rape. He hoped, however, on investigation, those offences would not turn out so grave as to merit these designations. His Honor referred to the charge of murder pre» ferred against a Maori and half-caste. This murder dißdosed a disgusting and shocking state of manners in the native district.
