SYDNEY, Aug. 20. The Prince received over a thousand farewell messages from all clftsses, expressing, as Mr Hughes s farewell expresses; the •enduring place His Royal Highness has won in all hearts. ' The Governor-General, m a me«s?ige to the King, concludes: "Ihe Prince endeared himself to all, and it is with infinite regret that the Government nnd people of Australia bid him good-bye." Kinlark, the winner of the Australian Steeplechase, av;is presented to the Prinao by the owner, Mr Nn-H. Wiien acquainted with the Federal tax on visiting pressmen with the Prince's party, Mr Hughes stated that he had written to the pressmen expressing reoiret, adding that the payment would lie refunded. It is officially stn.W that the Prince bestowed the following lion ore at; Wednesday's luncheon on the Renown : —Knight Commander, Victorian Order.
