ARBITRATION COURT DELAYS

[Press Association.,]

WELLINGTON, Aug. 20. A representative Labor deputation waited upon the Minister for Labor to-day in connection with Arbitration Court matters.

The deputation, . which was introduced by Mr P. -Fi-aser, M.P., protested against the delay in the Arbitration Court sittings in the chief centres, and also against the delayin giving a decision in respect to the cost-of-living bonus. Objection was taken to the fact that the President of the Court frequently sat on the .Supreme Court bench instead of giving priority to the work of the Arbitiation Court. It was admitted that the. Court was overworked, and the deputation suggested that the situation could be overcome if lurcher clerical assistance were given the Registrar. ~ '

Sir W. Herries, in reply, said ho would make representations to the Minister for Justice regarding the clashing of the work of the Arbitration and Supreme Courts. Tho matter of providing clerical assistance for the Registrar was one xhat could be rectified if inquiries showed the need for it. .
