ABNORMAL MON9OONAL RAINS
[Press Association.] Aus. and N.Z. Cable Association. . DELHI, Aug. 10. Abnormal monsoonal niins caused floods throughout the country. They were particularly severe . in Bengal, where a number of villages were swept away. . At Jamshedpur 1000 huts m the native quarter were destroyed. Many people are homeless, and large areas ,of crops in various districts liave been destroyed. Tho main streets of Calcutta are deeply flooded, and traffic is suspended. Heavy damage has been done to property. .■
