ANGLO-FRENCH LOAN
REPAYMENT TO AMERICA
[Press Association.3 Aus. and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received Aug. 11, 1.5 a.m.) NEW^YORK, Aug. 10. M. Casepave, Director-General of French Services in -the United. States, announces that France will ship five hundred .'iiillion dollars in gold shortly to mature the French share of .the Anglo-French loan of five hundred million dollars. She has already retired fifty million dollars worth of bonds, and a. similar amount will be. purchased between now and the mar ture date of October 15th; and an attempt will be made to refund 125,----000.000 dollars by a new loan.
Britain has already purchased over two hundred million dollars worth of bonds, and has arranged for the remaining fifty millions of her share by gold shipments.
