BREAD SUBSIDY
A BIG BURDEN.
[Press Association.] Aus. and N.Z, Cable Association. (Received Aug. 6, 2.10 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 5. Mr Chamberlain, replying in tho House of Commons to a question, said that the bread subsidy for the current year amounted to £45,000,000. He J-jid not contemplated a continuance of the subsidy into the next financial year.
