Father Eccletpn stating that h&~ would be unable to referee the Seddon Shield match. No answer had been received from the Buller Union to a telegram suggesting that the New Zealand Re-iV-r-ees' Association be approached with the object of supplying a referee for ihe match, and members expressed dissatisfaction with the Bullw Union's failure to reply, as the timo for the tour was rapidly approaching, and it might be left toolate to provide an outside referee. It was decided to communicate with Buller again, asking if that Union had any suggestions to offer in thtr matter of appointing a referee. The New Zealand Union had not intimated whether the countiy tour had been postponed, so the Union thought it best to proceed wilh ther arrangements for the West Coasttour." • ■ TEAM GUESSING COMPETITION. Last week the Union. ran a guessing competition with the object of collecting funds. Cards were sold on which were blank spaces for the competitors to wi'ite the narafcs of tho men whom they thought -would form the representative iteam. A large number of tickets were sold, and the result was made known last night. The successful . oonvoetitor was Rex liagge, who correctly forecasted the wliqle personnel, also placing them iotheir allotted positions in the team. The successful candidate won a prize> of one guinea. It was interesting to see that a large number of the competitors were nearly correct. The runner-up had all of the names cf tho players selected, but his placing was not quite right. From the Union's point of view the competition was considered a success. .CHANGES IN "REP." TEAM. It was notified that Mr Forbes, who was selected to go to ■ Wellington, would be unable to go, but would 'make* the Coast trip. The selectors" therefore decided to replace Forbes with M. Neal, who will play, wing forward. M. O'Brien will replace Mc-al in the back rank. Woolley will go as emergency. JUNIOR CUP.
