[FROM OTTR CORF.KSPOM)ENT,T WELLINGTON, July 30. The Legislative Council further considered tho Gaming Bill in committee, when the Hon. Mr Atkinson withdrew his amendment favoring the double totalisa-tor. The Hon. Mt Izard moved an amendment that all "tote" bets be in cash. The voting showed 15 cm each side, and the amendment was lost on'the chairman's casting vote. • The definition of bookmaker was, on the motion of Sir Francis Bell, widened to include persons offering to do a betting business.

The Bill was put through all the remaining stages and passed.
