A GENEROUS GIFT

DUNEDIN, July 31. Mr John Edmond has forwarded a cheque for £2000 to the Registrar of Otugo University for the purpose of establishing, a chemical research scholarship in connection with New Zealand industries.

In a letter, accompanying the gift Mr Edmond states: "This amount, with Government subsidy, ought to produce an. income sufficient to provide a scholarship of the- annus'il value of £'200 and still lea.ye something to provide for-material neeessa>rv to re-s-cpveli."-

Tlw .scholarship is to be held for two yenrs, and will be known as the John Edmond scholarship.
