(Received July 18, 5.5 p.m.). LONDON, July 17. Chicago reports that the Third Party will be known as the Farmers Labor Party. It has nominated Mr Christensen* a lawyer of Utah, for President, and Mr Max Hayes, the Labor leader, for Vice-President-. Mr Ghristenseoi announced tnat he would retire in favor of Mr Lafollotte if the latter would consent to fi&sume the nomination. Mr Lafollette had telegraphed to the Convention stating that lie would not run on the ticket if nominated. A strong faction, comprising the original founders of the Third Party movement, are very dissatisfied with the platform and candidates, and may organise their own party candidates and platform.
