AN ALARMING "SITUATION

(Router's Telegrams.) CAIRO, July 16. A message from Damascus dated July 12th states that the French troops, concentrating at Zahlee, occupied the Maallakah-Riak railway station. The Syrian forces are gathered at Magdelangar and are prepared to resist. The Bedouin chiefs are assembled at Damascus, where there is a state of ferment. The situation is alarming.
