Mr J. It. Sharp, South Island auditor for Dalgety and Co., Ltd.. is paying an official visit to Blenheim.
Mr W. Pepperell, of Wellington, who is a returned soldier, has joined the staff of Mr A. J. Maclaine, Blenheim, as accountant.
The funeral of the late Mr A. G. Mills, who met his death last week as the result of a shooting accident, was held at Renwick yesterday. The cortege was a lengthy one, and the burial service- was attended by residents from various parts of the district.
Death has removed an old and wellknown resident of Bienheim in the person of Mr Philip Saul, of Springlands. rJlhe deceased, whose demise uccuiTed on Friday, after a prolonged illness, was bom at St. John, Paddington, County of Middlesex, in 1849. He came to" Auckland in 1872 in the sailing ship Hyda,spns (Captain Babot), and spent, several years there and in the surrounding districts. Later, he went to Christciiureh, where he followed his occupation of carpenter and joiner* working on some of the large huildings there. He married, in 1882, Elizabeth Doherty, daunghter of Mr •lames Doherty. of County Limerick, Ireland. In 1884 he arrived in Blenheim, where- he had resided since, most of the time at Springlands. He loaves a widow and eleven children, all of whom are grown up. The sons are Reginald, of Petone, and George, Charles, and Mervyn, of Blenheim. The seven daughters are Mesdamefs B. Lnking, A. Williams, H. Hoar, and Misses Ruby and Gladys, residing in Blenheim; a.nd Mrs Ettriok, of Sydney, a.nd Mrs S. Rone, of Ivenepuru Heiids.
