SORED

[from our correspondent.]

WELLINGTON, July 14. Ministers censored the motion by Mr Holland dealing with the Irish situation, and it failed to make an appearance on the Order Paper to-da-v.

The Member for Buller demanded to know the reason.

Mr Speaker replied 'that he took full responsibility for deleting the ruction, because, in his opinion, it dictated to the British Government, or rather reflected on the actions of the British Government, in a critical period. Therefore the motion was not in order.—(Hear, hear). Mr Holland endeavored to • discuss the matter as a. question of privilege, but was. assured that there was'no question of privilege involved If the ruling was questioned ne could gyve notice to move that it be disagreed with*

This diil not appeal to Mr Holland, -vho pointed out that it rested with the Government to say whether the motion would ever get a chance of being discussed.
