HAWERA, June 8. , The charge against George Chrichton Tait, chemist, of alleged unreasonable profit in selling a fourounce pot of vaseline for • fifteen pence was dismissed, the Magistrate considering that the. price was not unreasonably high, having iegard to the several circumstances, andl • a chemist's professional skill placing him on a different footing from that of a general storekeeper. The Magistrate , found that the profit, taking into consideration the cost of replacement, was not more than 50 to 55 per cent., and the nett profit less than 11 per cent. The price Avas an increase of threepence on that before the war, , V The line was a slow-selling one. The defendant had sold a dozejn pots only in five months.
