The sun has gone, my darling one, Tho gentle night has come; The mother sings her lulJnbj'— _ '' Tra-la-la-rum-tum-t urn." No <langer threatens yen, sweet ono. You're tucked in quite secure; And on the nursery mantelpiece Is Woods' CJroat Peppermint Cure. —AdvrtL 8 Some concern as to the congestion at the Picton freezing works was expressed at the meeting of the Marlborough Executive of the Farmers' Union on Saturday. The matter was brought up by Mr J. F. Neal, who pointed out that the works, being chock full, were closed down about a week before Enster, and only about 10,000 to 12,000 carcases had been taken away by the Port Napier, which wats at Picton a few days ago. Even with a moderate rate of killing the works would be, filled up again in a fortnight. This was not a pleasant outlook, as the Marlborough farmers had a larger number of sheep awaiting freezing, and if the necessary space was not available many thousands k of sheep would, be left on their hands. It was resolved to bring the position under the notice of the Prime Minister. H. H. COOTE, OPTICIAN, 342 LAMBTON QUAY, WELLINGTON. ,
