DEATH AFTER BATHING

WELLINGTON,' April 5
Edward Lane, a railway employe©, was fatally injured, 'on. Saturday afternoon through being knocked down by an engine whilo on duty ait the Larnbton running yards. The un£ert'.in;:i.te man sustained! severe abdominal iniuries, and in addition his right nrm %ya.s fractured. Afte receiving first aid he" was admitted to the hospital in a hopeless conditaon, his death taking place at midnight the same • day. Mrs Bourne, wife of Mr J. A. Bourn©, who had been bathing at Wq>fser' Biaiy on Sunday, collapsed on reachiog the beach, and expired im--mediately, presumably from heaa-t failure. ' ' "; ■■•■'
