P. AND T. WAR BONUS.
Sir Joseph Ward made a lengthy statement regarding the war bonus- for Post and Telegraph employees. The matter had been before the House before, when the present FostmasterGeneral stated thatothe war bonus was not paya.ble from March Ist, 19] 9. Sir Joseph quoted Cabinet if-.inutes substantiating his contention that Cabinet' had resolved that the bonus should be paid until October1 Ist, 1919. He held that, there ,was t £277,000' still unexpended for the bonuses. ■ ' . ■ . Mr Massey said that if the money was promised by Cabinet,that pronise would be earned out "and the money paid.
