WEDDING.

HARRIS-JONES

Our Rai Valley correspondent v rites:—- /

On Wednesday last a -very pretty wedding took place at iSt. Mark's Church, Rai Valley, the contracting parties being Mr Henry Harris, third son of Mrs J. Harris, Kaikour.i, and Miss Irene Maud Jones, third daughter of Mr ami Mrs "W. N. Jones, Bronte 'Terrace, Flat 'Creek. The ceremony was performed by Ihe Rev. A. ll'. Heron, of Havelock. The bride, wlio was given away by lier father, woi>e a. dress of white crepe de chine and charm-ens©. A long veil formed the train, and was carried by little Evan T'arnell. The1 bride carried a, white prayer-book. The bridesmaids were Miss Doiis Jones, who wore a frock of white hand-embroidered georgette and fstm and a black tulle 'hat, and Miss Rosella Jones, who was gowned in white silk crepe and taffeta, v ith a Hack tulle hat. The best man was Mr Roy Jones and the groomsman Mr Roy Mears. The flower girl was little Iris 'Thomson,' niece «/f the bride, who wore a -cream crepe de chine frock, and carried a basket of violets and roses witfh white streamers. The bridegroom's gift to the 'bride was a. -pendant, and the bride:'.s gift to the bridegroom a. watch. The bridegroom presented the bridesmaids with gold brooches. After the ceremony a. -reception.-was held at the Carluke Hall,, *nd ']uite 300 guests were present, the gathering being the largest yet seen in the Valley, testifying to the popularity .'of the parties. Later the bride and bridegroom left by motor <?n route to ;the South, the- bride wearing a nnvy serge costume and a, cream l.'sit. The festivities were kept up in tiie evening in the form of music and dancing.
