LONDON, June 7. Giving evidence before the Coal Commission Sir Richard Redmayne stated that the existing royalty-own-ing system was against the national interest. Compensation 10, royaltyowners on a basis of 12i years' purchase would amount to £70,000,000... There was a disquieting -fall in the ocal output, amounting to 9 per cent per person per shift, compared with pre-war times, partly attributable to the, miners backward state of development.
