ANNUAL REPORT AND BALANCE-SHEET.

The Vestry,/ in presenting the report and balance-sheet for the year, congratulate the parishioners on the improved financial position. - There are no outstanding liabilities, and all the loans have been paid off. The general offertories increased by £120, this being largely due to the "golden .offering," which the Vestry recommend should be continued. Special offertories and contributions, as well as the Sustentation Fund, showed a falling-off. The fact that no missionary sales were held during the financial year' was /mainly responsible for the decreases under the first two heads. The Pension Fund of the diocese is, it is stated, one of the best in the Dominion.

The Vestry urge parishioners not to relax their contributions, as there are certain necessary works to be carried out which will cost at least £300.' ..■■..

Appreciative reference is made to the \wdrk of the Yen; Archdeacon York during a trying period. The question of appointing a curate to assist the vicar is regarded, as a matter of urgency. x Donations are invited to defray the cost of a memorial to the late Yen. Archdeacon Grace. It is also suggested that a tablet containing,, the names of members of the congregation who gave their lives in the. war be placed* in the church. • \- The return of the Bishop from the theatre of war is a matter for deep thankfulness, and the Vestry pray that he may long be spared to develop the many undertakings he has in view for the good, of the diocese and, the advancement of Christ's Kingdom on Earth. Owing to'the epidemic, the war, and to natural causes, death claimed many parishioners, and deepest sympathy is expressed with those bereaved

It is noted that, by authority of the Synod which recently sat in, Napier, women have now equal voting powers with men at parish meetings. These powers may be exercised at to-morrow night's meeting.
