WEEKLY SALE.
Oriffiths Bros., Ltd., report having held a most successful- sale on Saturday before a very large attendance. With the exception of horses, which wera dull of sale, bidding throughout was animated. Pigs made an excellent enti-y, prices being well up to the usual standard. Stores were in excellent demand. Poultry made a small penning, but prices were firm. Vegetables of all kinds wero in great -demand, but supplies were short.
Prices ruled as; follows:—Pigs: Stores 345, weanera 295, 28s, 255, 235, 14s, to 10s, according to size. Poultry: Ducks 7s 3d; fowls 6s s 4s to 3s 9di per pair. Draught horse £11. Prominent amongst other lines wheat realised 275, potatoes 20s, swedes 16s 6d. carrots 12s, 10s to 7s 6d; parsnips 10s, bran (2001bs) 18s, pig meal 18u to i6s, broken peas 21s to 29s per sack, onions 12s 6d per cwt.
The furnitnre sale on behalf of Mr Jas. Rankin was a distinct success, a good clearance being effected, ■^riie tiroi's next sale will be held on Wednesday next when the household furniture of Mrs J. H. Goulding, Scott Street, will be submitted to auction at 1.80 p.m..
