[Press Association.] WELLINGTON, May 1. Tlie Mayoral elections in the chief centres resulted as follows:— Wellington: Mr Luke (re-elected). Christchurch: Dr Thacker, M.P. (Canal League candidate.) Dunedin: Mr Begg. : Palmerston North:. Mr Nash, M.P. (re-elected.) ■ '
Napier: Mr J. V. Brown, M.P. New Plymouth: Mr Burgess (reelected). ,:, ,■•(■'■' ■ Nelson: Mr Snodgrassi (re-elected). Timaru: Mr Raymond. , ' Oamaru :Mr McDiarmid. : Wangaimi: Mr.Mackay (re-elected). Gisborne: MrvWildish.- ' Invercargill: Mr Stear (re-elected). At Wellington the result of the Council ©lection is incomplete, but Labor appears to have won two seats and may win two more. Mr Read, Labor's candidate for the Mayoralty, was second on the poll.
Auckland: The city electors I'eturned eighteen old members, three Labor • members, and two ladies. - D'evonport: Mr H. H. King. Onehunga: Mr J. Parr". Takapuna: Mr W. Bloomfield. Birkenhead: Mr G. A\ rhangarei: Mr John Samuel Dent (re-elected), defeating Mr Dtonald Alexander McLean by a majority of 100.
