INFECTION FROM WEST COAST
' A WAKEFEELD PROTEST. At a meeting in Wakefield on Saturday evening, the following resolution was passed and forwarded to Mr T. A. H. Field, M.P.: /'That this meeting of Wakefield citizens desires to call the attention of the Health Department to the fact that persons are travelling daily from the West Coast, a highly infected area, via Glenhope to _Nelson, and there is no means of disinfection at Glenhope, and that there is urgent need of steps being taken to curtail passenger traffic from the West Coast to Nelson, which is as jet fairly immune from the epidetouc. That the infection comes from the West Coast is. evidenced by the fact that 21 out of 24 residents- at Glenhope are down with influenza, and also-it is reported that^so far these patients have received no medica lattention whatever, and that , some measure of relief should be accorded them.''
Mr T. A. H. Field, M.F., has received a copy of the resolution, and has telegraphed it on to v the Minister.
