The official statement regarding President Wilson's attending the Peace Conference states that the President expects to participate in the discussions and settlement of the main features of the Treaty of Peace. It is not likely at present the

President will remain«throughout the session, but his presence is necessary at the outset to. obviate the manifest disadvantage of. discussion by cable regarding, the greater -outlines of the final treaty, upon which, he must necessarily be consulted. He will be accompanied bys: delegates, who will sit as representatives of the United States throughout. the . conference.
