THE G 0 Vim NMENT' S PROPOSALS.
Sir James Allen and other members of tho Government met at Wellington on Wednesday representatives of the recent Labor Conference held to discuss the so-called industrial conscription proposals in I section 25 of the Finance Act of last I year. l Sir James Allen assured the | deputation that before any rcguln--5 tions were made labor would bo couI suited, and that it was not the '! intention to xipo the se'-tion—as labor | people seemed to suspect was tho J intention—to suppress labor, or make ( it possible for employers to exploit I the. workers. j Mention was made of tho Juro- | Slavs, and Sir James Allen said tho i Government had made u=o of this I section as affecting the Jugo-Slars, t because- there wero no regulations 5 suitable for the nurposp.
