[PROM 01/R CORRESPONDENT.] Monday. At a meeting of citizens, called in response to the Prime Minister's request by 'the chairman of the Havelock Town Board and th'o Pclorus Road Board* the resolution for the determined continuation of tlie war was carried unanimously. The proceedings wore of the briefest description, and were presided . over by Mr W..H. Smith, chairman of tbe Town Board.-" The motion was put by Mr J. S. Storey (chairman of the Pelorus Road Board), and seconded by Mr W. H.' Orsman, both of whom made short references to the necessity of bringing the war to a successful conclusion. The - meeting terminated with the singing of the National Anthem. ...
Mr and Mrs Frank Galloway, of the Commercial Hotel, are at present oil a visit to Australia, the former having been advised to consult a specialist m Sydney. They -expect to be absent from New Zealand about three or four months.
