The American Ambassador, replying, said that America had entered into the holy crusade for the extension of liberty. He hoped that the result would be a perfect and permanent understanding between all friends of steadfast and free Government.

Independence Day was made * .great fete -in Paris. American (troops marching along the streets received an ovation.
