A cablegram rceeiyed by Mr Cornelius O'Leary, of the Wairau Valley, states • that his- brother, Private George O'Leary, was wounded ori Jfune 15 th. Private O'Leary enlisted at Geraldine, South Canterbury, and left with the Seventeenth Reinforcements.

Kifleman Ernest Fraser, who- is reported to have been killed in action, was a member of the Third Company of the Isevr Zealand llifle Brigade, and left New Zealand for the front in - February, 1916. His widowed mother is a resident of the Renwick district, v.here he was born and bred; and his death is also mourned by two\ sisters, and a younger and only brother, who left last February for active service. The deceased soldier, who was 27 years of age, was a school teacher for five jears, being in charge respectively of the Te Awaite. and Grassmere schools, ond resigning from the jatter place to enlist. He was wounded on two occasions prior, to the engagement' in which he lost his life.
