All work in tlie State' mines was suspended to-day as a protest against tthe new regulations in regard to workmen's tickets available between i Runanga and Dunollie and the Rcwanui mine.
Formerly the?©-tickets werr^ aTail-, able for a fortnight. Now the tickets 1 issued to expire on Hay Bih expire on Saturday next, the 28th inst., the Railway- ■ Department giving \ guarantee as to future conditiqns. ,
