ARTILLERY FIRE ON WHOLE FRONT.
FRENCH CAPTURE FOUR HEAVY MORTARS:
(Axis, and' N.Z. Assn. and Renter.) (Received April 25, 6.25 p.m.) , LONDON, April 24. A French communique says: The day was chiefly marked by artillery fire on the whole front in the regions of St. Quentin, the Oiae, Corbury, Juvincourt, and the Champagne. Explosions were observed at a certain number of batteries. • We brought back four 105-millimetre mortars captured during the fighting on the plateau of Chemin dcs Barnes, hitherto not counted in the gains. i Near Moronyillers our light troops penetrated • German trenches- and found them full of corpses.
