GIFT EVENING
A most successful gift evening Avas held in the Masonic i.nte-rbom by '.he Miembers of the St. Peter's Junior Guild last night; the attendance and, total • proceeds being quite up to, expectations. -One of the attractions Avas a cookery competition, and i hough tho number of entries was rathor disappointing there was no doubt about the- quality of the exhibits. Prizes.'■ were syv-arded. as follows:—Sultana cake, Mrs A. F-ooiti spoage fiilce, Mrs G. Smith; »aftti*r, Mrs F. Tho was; shortbread, Mrs W. TT. Smith; scones, Mrs W. H. Smith; bread, Mrs G. Popa. The exhibits, having become the. property oi the.Guild, were sold, and realised 17s. The sale.of .fancy goods brought, in £3 Is. and about 11s A^as received in cash donations. A: picture competition Avas/ Avon by Mrs J. D. Goi-rie, and Mr C. Orsman was successful in a -flower-guessing compete tion.1'" The total receipts, amounting vo nearly HSS, are for church purposes.
