The Hich (Commissioner reports:— Sept, 22 (3.30 p.m.) A "British official report states:— Swcrfhwards of the Ancre during the night wo advanced one milo on oiir front, 'Capturing two lines of trenches "between Fiers and ;Martinpuich. Our Tine now runs approximately directly isorth?"6f Fleirs and Martrnpuich.
The'enemy's trenches were enter<e3 'la^t night south, of Arras, wjhjere •we captured prisoners f»,nd inflicted casualties. Northwards of Neuvilfe 'St. 'Va-ast a mine was exploded', and Che crater was occupied -by us.
