MARLBOROUGH SUB-DISTRICT.

The monthly meeting of the Executive Committee was held last evening, and was attended by Messrs J. M. Lightfoot (vice-president in the chair). F. Mogridge, A. Duncan, E. Mead, G. M. McKay, H. W. Hortoh, G. J. Bott, J. R. Sharp, and H. de Denne (hon. Secretary). , Having transacted formal business and approved the enrolment of two new members, the meeting discussed the new Dominion Council rules atsome length, and -expressed qualified satisfaction with them, the qualification being due to the apparent aiiu

biguity of certain passages therein, though the difficulties found were for the most part explained away by the chairman as the result of recent conferences with the Dominion Commandant. The secretary was instructed to notify unit secretaries that the animal subscription fixed by the rules was now payable, and to arrange for its collection.

Satisfaction was expressed at the success of the annual meeting in .spite of the failure of many member.* to attend.

The chairman briefly outlined tht* present plan of action of the local Recruiting- Board, and stated the ways in which it was hoped to utilise the National Reserve in the work.
