YOUTHFUL DRINKERS.
[to the editor.] Sir,—Under the above heading «. letter appeared in Saturday's ExXttßss. The writer states that his iivforrnant hesitates to take proceedings against these- inebriated smiths bo- i ~cause ono of them at leasf was tho son of respectable parents. I take it, then, that had these youths been the sons of some unfortunate working people ho would not hayo hesitated1 at once to inform the police and havo them arrested1; but because thoy were tho sons' of "respectable" parwits ho hesitated, and of course lays tho blame for their half-drunken condition at tho door of one or -all tho hotels in Blenheim. There was no other place where thoy could got it. Oh, no! However, on this occasion, if reports are true, those half-drunken youths referred to got drunk on spirits that never saw the inside of any hotel in Blenheim or anywhere else—or tho Working Men's Club, either. FAIR PLAY.
