The following has been received from the H/gh Commissioner:—
LONDON. l>ee. 31 (1.30 a.m.)^ Yesterday sixteen;of our aeroplanes bombed, the Cbirtincs station, hitting the railway lines and sheds. Ten of cur aeroplanes heavily attacked the aerodrome, doing considerable damage. To. both cases all the machines refcrned safely.
During tho day ive had twelve encounters with hostile aeroplanes, one fighting four of tlio enemy, all of which worn driven off. One of ows was brought down in a combat with two hostile machines.
During the night the enemy heavily .shelled trenches' -south of Fricoxirt, but wore immediately- driven out. North of Ypres there is artillery activity on both sides.
- fn Artois munition depots were exploded south-west of Beauraines and in the Beauvraignes sector. North of Soissons aw enemy battery- was ■silenced and dam aged. *
