I Mr Martin Kennedy has been reelected unopposed as a director of the Bank of New Zealand. He was: congratulated by the clwiirmnn today on the attainment of hia= j '"majority"' as a director. ) yVe.ry sincere regret is expressed byiff wide circle of friends at,. the dcatfatiof Mrs Bert Holdaway, after an illness of only a few days and underspecially sad circumstances. The deceased lady was highly esteemed byall who knew her. She was brought uj) at Prebbleton, near Cliristehurc.il> and for many years was organist fora united Presbyterian and Methodisfe Church in that township. She wast also vi devoted and beloved Sunday School teacher, and only relinquished' Miis trood work on her marriage to Mr Holdaway and her removal to Marlborough. During her residence hereshe was a consistent and valued member of "Wesley Church, and only recently had agreed to undertake woric in connection with an honorary visiting guild. As an earnest- Christina; lady her loss is sincerely mourned. JJ
