BALTIC
PANIC-STRICKEN GERMAN
CREWS
(Received Deo. 2, 8.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, Dec.. 1. The Evening Post's Stockholm correspondent says that Britain's blockade of the Baltic is thoroughly effective. At the iron and timber exporting ports German steamers are afraid to come. out. Nineteen German steamers have already been torpedoed or driven ashore, while others are missing. » The arrival of British submarines encouraged the Russian submarines to develop greater, audacity and activity. C-vormian crews are panic-stricken.
j Even armed trawlers are-shooting at f sight, and have sunk at least one i ?wedish submarine in mistake for British.
