CRISIS IN ROUMANIA.
[TnEsa. Association.]
_^- (Received IDec. 1, *:55 p.m.) """ ■ "LCHSiipQN, Dec. 1. All'the European-capitals are preoccupied with . the IBalkan tangle. Anxiety has foeen intensified by the: publication of 'the-'Greek reply to the '^Entente,', which declares that Greece will maintain 'benevolent neutrality so long as "her sovereign rights are not infringed and no restrictions of a military character are --imposed. Greece contends that with Salonika and. its railways in -the hands of the Allies the Gree~k forces are deprived of their only provisioning base/ The German newspapers are pubr lishing extravagant articles showing the attitudel of •proJGerman Greeks. A leading Athenian politician, interviewed1, stated that King Coristantine and General Dusmanis considered Italy to lie even more dangerous than Bulgaria. Italy wants Epirus. It w rere better that Turkey should hold Constantinople than Russia. 'If the French and British are driven back they will certainly be interned. There will he plenty of highly-placed personages in the army capable of being used as hostages if the Allies "bo.r^Jjard the coasts of Greece. She can shoot so many British and French officers and execute a certain number of soldiers for every Greek ship sunk. There • will be «nough ■■: British captured to save Greece from bombardment. There is every indication th^t a crisis lias been reached in Ronmania. ■-. ■
