HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLED REPORT.
The Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce has received the following cablegram from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, dated London 27th November, 1915. (Note: Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot): — Meat.—The market continues dull at lower prices, except for ewes, for. reasons already given during last week. Mutton.—Canterbury, 7d per lb. for, light weight; heavyweight, 6|d. There are only a few other brands than Canterbury available, and they are not quoted. Ewes, a good demand, sfd. • X Lamb.—Canterbury, tAVo-'s, 7£d. per H>.; heavyweight fores, 7d; secondclass quality -lightweight, 7 Id; other brands than Canterbury, 7fd for best quality lightweight; ordinary quiality, Be t f.—New Zealand beef, secondclass quality, hinds s|d, fores 4^d; chilled beef, a moderate supply, hinds 7-id, fores Sid. Butter.—The market is firm, with a good demand for best quality. Danish, market -quiet, but firm, per cwt., 178s to 3825; Siberian, 128s to 1345; Irish creamery, supplies are decreasing, 158s to 1645; Australian, 158s to 1645; good to fine,i.lo4s to 1565; nnsalted, 160s to 1665; New Zealand, Ofca-ki shipment lias already been sold, 162s to 164s up to 1665; pood to fine 158s to 160s. Argentine, 156s to 160s'; unsalted, 160s to 1665. »C3j©ese —-The .market is advancing gte^dily. ' Caiiatliaii, strong market,, very-little else; offering, White'- and colored, per cwt., 90s to 925; English Cheddar, firm market, 98s to 100s; Cheshire.. 106s to 110.s for fine to finest; United States, a good demand, 84s to 88s; Siberian, a good.demand, 80s to 82s; low grade, 78s; New Zealand, nothing offering. Henip.—The market is rather quiet. Buyers -are cautious. New Zealand,' Rood fair, per ton on spot, £35 10s; fai\ £33 10s; ;Manila, new graded fa.ir, £42; coarse, £34; January to March shipment: New Zealand, g°°d fair, £35; fair, £33; Manila, new graded fair, £11 10s; coarse, £33 10s. The output from Manila for. the week was 23,000 bales. . Wheat.—The market is steady Avith an improved demand. Canadian, on spot, per quarter, 565; November to December shipment, 545; Australian, to arrive in January, 60s. Oats.—The market is quiet, and prices are- slightly weaker. Argentine, on s-pot, per quarter, 31s; November to December shipment, 30s. Wool.—The market is strong.
